Lugo

In the fertile Galician Mountains, about 1500 feet above sea level, Lugo is on the lines of communication linking the coast with the interior. It was a prosperous city in Roman times, and has a fine medieval center. Its economic life is relatively unimportant and is based on agriculture and cattle breeding. The city's encircling walls with towers date from the Roman era.
