La Coruna
The city occupies the isthmus of a peninsula which juts into the Atlantic between the Bay of Orz~n and the Bay of La Coruna. The city is of Iberian origin and later became a Roman colony. In the Middle Ages La Corufia achieved considerable importance as a textile center and after that great prosperity through trade with the Americas.The port is today one of the busiest in northern Spain.
